Jun-Zheng Scholarship


Jun-Zheng Scholarship:

Funded by Dr. Li Zhengdao (Dr. Tsung-Dao Lee), a world-renowned American Chinese physicist, 1957 Nobel Physics Prize Winner.
The scholarship is committed to encourage undergraduate research in Peking University. The award is based on academic qualification, research experience, English proficency and an application with a reserach proposal. An award committee will evaluate each applicant's qualification and decide the award. Each year, only 10 students out of the whole undergraduate student body are awarded this scholarship.
I won this scholarship in April, 1998.

Challenging Cup


Challenging Cup:

A prize awarded by Peking University. Award is based on outstanding independent research projects and papers. The prize covers the whole student body including undergraduate, graduate and postdoc. Usually, 10 first prizes, 15 second prize and 30 third prizes out of hundreds of research projects are awared each year.
I won the a third prize in 1996-97 academic year (sophomore) for a research paper entitled "Electrorecurrent Fluid Properties of Rare Earth Oxide and Hydroxide".

Future Eagle Prize


Future Eagle Prize:
A prize awarded by Peking University to students in the Scientific Trial Class of Peking University based on outstanding academic records of the requirement of the class.
I was awarded twice. First Prize for 96-97 academic year; second prize for 95-96 academic year.

The Scientific Trial Class of Peking University was founded in 1991, which aims at providing high quality science students with wide range of knowledge in science fields. The class requires a more comprehensive curriculum than common classes. The requirement includes one more semester of math, deeper physics and chemistry classes, extra requirements of computer science, biology, geology and English classes. In addition, studetns in this class have more opportunities to involve in faculty's research. Each year, around 120 freshmen are selected from all range of science departments and form this special study group.

Social Activity Prize


Social Acitivity Prize:
A prize awarde by Peking University. Award is based on outstanding leadership in social acitivities or public service.
I won this prize of 1996-97 academic year for my excellent performance as the president of my class and a chief sponsor of a campus newspaper agency which distributes the first student-self-managed newspaper on campus.

Yu-Hongzheng Prize

Yu-Hongzheng Prize:
Fund established by Professor Yu Hongzheng, a renowned chemistry scientist and an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Science.
The prize is awarded each year to the graduating high school senior in Shan'xi Province who gets the highest score in chemistry subject of the National College Entrance Test (NCET).
The prize is also awarded to outstanding college students in Northwest Agriculture College, Yangling, Shan'xi Province and Northwest University, Xi'an, Shan'xi Province.
I was awarded in 1995 for my success in NCET chemistry subject.
